Post-Trash is an independent music online magazine founded by Exploding in Sound co-owner Dan Goldin in 2015.[1][2][3]
History
Post-Trash was founded by its editor Dan Goldin in 2015.[2][4][5] The publication’s coverage specializes in independent releases[6] and Indie Rock.[3][7][8] The site’s editorial includes interviews,[9] reviews,[10][11][12] think pieces,[13] and premieres.[14][15][16]
In addition to its editorial output, Post-Trash has promoted and hosted live events including the Ugly Trash Fest (in collaboration with The Ugly Hug publication)[1][17] and SXSW showcases.[18][19][20] They have also released compilation albums to raise money for Planned Parenthood,[21] RAICES,[22] and María Fund.[23][24] Contributing artists to these compilations have included Deerhoof, Ian Sweet, and Pile.[25][26][27]
In 2024, Goldin ceased editing Post-Trash, and the role was filled by Pat Pilch and Niccolo Porcello.[28][29][30]
Post-Trash’s editorial has been referenced or cited by publications including Pitchfork,[31] Stereogum,[32] Rolling Stone Australia / New Zealand,[33] Tiny Mix Tapes,[34] Daily Kos,[35] Vice,[36] Jensaispop,[37] Uncut,[38] The Fader,[39] Paste,[40] NEPM[41], Adafruit Industries,[42] New University,[43] and others.[44][45][46]
