アルキトエ（Alcithoe）は、巻貝科（Volutidae）の亜科Cymbiinaeに属する大型の海産巻貝、海産腹足類の軟体動物の属である^{。 [ 1 ]}

説明

アルキトエは大型の底生新腹足類の海産巻貝である。^{[ 2 ]}種は捕食性であり、すべての分類群は直接発達する。^{[ 3 ]}

殻は卵形紡錘形。尖頭が発達し、先端は乳頭状。開口部は卵形で幅広。内唇には広がる胼胝が見られる。外唇は拡張し、亜屈曲する。^{[ 4 ]}

分布

20～30ファゾムでトロール漁獲される。アルシトエ属はニュージーランド周辺の海域に生息する。^{[ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 5 ]}この属には豊富な化石記録がある。^{[ 6 ] [ 5 ]}
