Aramco Stadium[a] is a under construction multi-purpose stadium located in the north of Khobar, Saudi Arabia.[1][2] It is set to be a venue for the 2034 FIFA World Cup and has a proposed capacity of 46,096 people, where it will host fixtures in the group stage, round of 32, and round of 16.[3] It will also be used for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.[4][5]
History
The stadium is named after Saudi Aramco, which will operate the venue upon its opening, while Roshn retains ownership. It is administratively located within Khobar, although its proximity to the border with Dammam has caused some confusion; despite some believing it is in Dammam, it is officially within Khobar’s boundaries. The stadium's design is inspired by the shape of the water vortex commonly seen off the shores of Khobar city. It is also located just a few streets away from the stadium of neighboring city rivals, Al-Ettifaq Club Stadium, based in Dammam.

A partnership between Roshn, a Public Investment Fund-owned real estate development company, and Saudi Aramco was established to build the stadium.[1] Construction began in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2026, with the official opening scheduled for that year.[2] During construction, on March 12, 2025, a worker from Pakistan, died on site.[6]
On January 16, 2026, a limited fire broke out at the stadium during construction. It was extinguished within 10 minutes, causing minor damage and no injuries to workers.[7]
Usage
The stadium was built after Aramco acquired Al-Qadsiah and will serve as the club’s new home starting in 2026. It will also host matches during the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Like other new stadiums in Saudi Arabia, it has air conditioning to keep players and fans comfortable. It can also host concerts and large events.[4]
