Astroblepus theresiae is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the familyAstroblepidae, the climbing catfishes.[2] This catfish is endemic to Ecuador, where it is found in coastal river systems draing into the Pacific.[1] This species attains a maximum standard length of 8 cm (3.1 in).[3]
The specific name honors Princess Therese of Bavaria, an amateur naturalist and explorer, who conducted scientific expeditions to South America, and encouraged knowledge about Bolivia. Ecuador and Peru.[4]
