アソル・ギル

ウィリアム・アソル・ギル（1937-1992）は、影響力のあるオーストラリアの神学者であり、オーストラリアの急進的な弟子運動の指導者の一人でした。^{[ 1 ]}

教育

ギルはニューサウスウェールズバプテスト神学校、スポルジョン大学、ロンドン大学に通い、 1965年に神学の学士号を優等で取得した。その後、リュシュリコン国際バプテスト神学校とチューリッヒ大学に通い、1967年に修士号、1971年に神学博士号を取得した。 ^{[ 2 ]}

職業経歴

ギルは1971年から1972年にかけてクイーンズランドのバプテスト神学大学、1973年から1974年にかけてブリスベンのメソジスト訓練大学、そしてメルボルン大学内のホイットリー・カレッジで講師を務め、1975年から1979年までは学部長、その後1979年から1992年に亡くなるまで新約聖書の教授を務めた。^[³^]

意図的なコミュニティ

ギルは、ブリスベンのハウス・オブ・フリーダムとメルボルンのハウス・オブ・ザ・ジェントル・バニップという2つのキリスト教共同体の創設者であり、どちらもシドニーのハウス・オブ・ザ・ニュー・ワールドと非公式に結びついていました。^{[ 4 ]}

認識

ギルの重要性は、2001年にホイットリー大学内にオープンしたアソル・ギル・センターの命名、2002年に出版されたギルを称える学術論文集、2007年に出版された神学者ハロルド・ピッドウェルによる伝記、そして2012年に完成した芸術家デイヴィッド・ウォンによる記念スクリーンによって記念されている。^{[ 5 ]}
