ジュリー・E・コーエンはアメリカの法学者です。1999年以来、ジョージタウン大学ローセンターの法学教授として、著作権、知的財産、プライバシーに関する講義と執筆活動を行っています。[ 1 ]また、公益団体である電子プライバシー情報センター[ 2 ]とパブリック・ナレッジの諮問委員会のメンバーでもあります。学術論文のほか、『 Configuring the Networked Self: Law, Code, and the Play of Everyday Practice 』の著者であり、 『Copyright in a Global Information Economy』の共著者でもあります。
教育と初期のキャリア
ハーバード大学で学士号、ハーバード・ロー・スクールで法務博士号を取得した後、コーエン氏は米国第9巡回区控訴裁判所のスティーブン・ラインハート判事の法務書記官を務めました。1992年から1995年まで、サンフランシスコのマカッチェン・ドイル・ブラウン・アンド・エナーセン法律事務所に勤務し、知的財産訴訟を専門としました。1995年、ピッツバーグ大学ロー・スクールの法学助教授に就任しました。

Cohen uses a philosophical approach to legal theory. She questions and analyzes legal theory's conception of the self, and argues that the assumptions that contemporary legal policy often makes about the self "subtly structure debates about information policy."[4] Cohen introduces postmodernist conceptions of the self into discussions of information policy.
