Faizal Khan (born 1993), professionally known as Khan Sir (pronounced[ˈxɑːnsəɾ]), is an Indian educator and YouTuber based in Patna, Bihar. He runs a coaching center for students preparing for different kinds of competitive exams in India. [2]

Early life and education

Khan was born into a wealthy family in Bhatpar Rani, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, in 1993. His father worked as a contractor while his mother was a housewife. [1][3] He completed his early schooling at Parmar Public School in Bhatpar Rani. After completing his schooling, he studied at the University of Allahabad, pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in geography.

In 2025, Khan announced that he had married AS Khan.[4]

Career

He started his YouTube channel named Khan GS Research Centre and started teaching online. He also launched an app in 2021 and started offering online courses to students who are unable to come to the city to study offline. [5]

Future plan

Khan Sir has purchased 99 Katha (3.09 acres) of land at Koilwar near Arrah in the Bhojpur district of Bihar in August 2025. He has still not officially disclosed the purpose for buying this land. [6]

Controversies

On 24 April 2021, Khan shared a video on France-Pakistan relations that eventually went viral. Many X users criticized the video and called Khan Sir Islamophobic. Others found some pictures of him celebrating Raksha Bandhan, a festival that is mainly celebrated by Hindus, after which he had to issue a clarification on YouTube. [1]

On 27 January 2022, an FIR was lodged at the Patrakar Nagar police station against six teachers of different private coaching centers, including Khan's, and 16 others in connection with violent protests over the Railway Recruitment Board's NTPC examination. The FIR was registered on the basis of statement of some protesters who were taken into custody by the police during the violent protests at the Rajendra Nagar Terminal. [7][8]

On 7 December 2024, Khan took part in a protest against the changes made in BPSC preliminary examination. [9]
