This is a list of seasons completed by the Brooklyn Nets professional basketball team. The Nets were founded as the New Jersey Americans, a charter franchise of the American Basketball Association (ABA), in 1967.[1] The club later played in the ABA as the New York Nets. After the 1975–76 season, the ABA merged with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Nets joined the NBA.[2] Following the team's first season in the NBA, it moved back to New Jersey and was renamed the New Jersey Nets.[3] After 35 seasons in New Jersey, the team moved to the New York City borough of Brooklyn in 2012 and became the Brooklyn Nets.[4]

- ^ The Americans tied the Kentucky Colonels for fourth place and the final playoff berth in the Eastern Division. A one-game playoff was to be played on the Americans' home court, but because a suitable venue could not be found in time, the game was forfeited to the Colonels and the Americans finished fifth in the division.
- ^ The Nets tied the Kentucky Colonels for first place in the Eastern Division. A one-game playoff was played on April 4, 1975, where the Colonels defeated the Nets 108–99, and thus the Nets finished second.
