機械的連帯と有機的連帯

社会学において、機械的連帯と有機的連帯^[1]は、エミール・デュルケームが『社会分業論』 （1893年）の中で社会発展理論の一部として提唱した2つの社会的連帯のタイプである。デュルケームによれば、連帯のタイプは社会のタイプ、すなわち機械的社会か有機的社会かと相関関係にある。2つのタイプの連帯は、形態学的・人口統計学的特徴、存在する規範のタイプ、そして集団的意識の強度と内容によって区別することができる。^[2]

機械的連帯を示す社会では、その結束と統合は個人の同質性から生まれます。人々は、同じような仕事、教育や宗教的訓練、年齢、性別、ライフスタイルを通してつながりを感じます。機械的連帯は通常、伝統的で小規模な社会（例えば、部族）で機能します。^[2]これらのより単純な社会では、連帯は通常、家族ネットワークの 血縁関係に基づいています。

有機的連帯とは、より進んだ（すなわち近代的で産業化された）社会の結果として、仕事の専門化と補完主義^{（疑わしい-議論の余地あり）}から人々の間に生じる相互依存性に基づく社会的結束である。 ^[2]個人はそれぞれ異なる仕事を遂行し、しばしば異なる価値観や関心を持つが、社会の秩序と連帯そのものは、特定の仕事を遂行するために互いに依存することに依存している。したがって、より複雑な社会においては、社会的連帯は構成要素の相互依存性を通じて維持される。例えば、農民は工場労働者に食料を供給し、工場労働者はトラクターを生産し、そのトラクターは農民が食料を生産することを可能にする。
