Ransiki (Indonesian: Ransiki) is a small town and also an administrative district (distrik) of 178.61 km2 which includes that town, in the Indonesian province of West Papua.[2] The town is the administrative seat of the South Manokwari Regency. In 2010, there were 7,683 people in Ransiki District,[3] which rose to 16,245 at the 2020 census[4] and was officially estimated at 18,303 in mid 2024.[5] The town is served by Ransiki Airport.[6]

History

During World War II a ship sank off the Ransiki coastline.[citation needed]

Climate

Ransiki has a tropical rainforest climate with moderate to heavy rainfall year-round.
