Kristina Adebaio (Russian: Кристина Даниэлевна Адебайо, born 19 January 2002) is a Russian taekwondo practitioner. She is a World and European Championships medalist and a multiple-time Russian national champion.
Biography
[edit]Kristina Adebaio was born on 19 January 2002. She began practicing taekwondo in 2018.[1] She graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism in 2023.
Career
[edit]In 2018, Adebaio won the bronze medal in the over 63 kg category at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires.[2]
In 2019, she won the gold medal at the European Junior Taekwondo Championships in Valencia.[3]
In 2022, she was the silver medalist at the Russian Spartakiad in summer sports.[4]
On 31 May 2022, she was awarded the title of International Master of Sports of Russia.[5]
At the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, she claimed the bronze medal in the +73 kg category, losing in the semifinals to Nafia Kuş of Turkey.[6]
In May 2024, at the 2024 European Taekwondo Championships in Belgrade, she also won the bronze medal in the +73 kg category.[7][8]
On 8 November 2024, in Nalchik, she won the Russian National Championships by defeating Linara Muslimova from Ulyanovsk Oblast in the final.[9]
