カタツムリ属は、小型で左巻きまたは左巻きの、空気呼吸する淡水産カタツムリの属であり、カタツムリ科の水生有肺性腹足類軟体動物です。

これらのカタツムリは藻類、珪藻類、その他の残骸を食べます。

シェルの説明

カタツムリ科の貝類は左巻きの殻を持ちます。つまり、殻の先端を上に向けて開口部を観察者に向けて持つと、開口部は左側にあります。

Physella属の貝殻は、長く大きな開口部と尖った尖塔を持ち、蓋はありません。貝殻は薄く角質で、透明度は高いです。
