Yu Island (Indonesian: Pulau Yu) is an inhabited island in the Maluku Islands, Indonesia.[1] It is located in the province of North Maluku, in the eastern part of Indonesia, 2,700 km east of Jakarta the capital of the country. Its area is 3.2 square kilometers.
The terrain on Yu Island is mostly flat.[a] The highest point on the island is 34 meters above sea level. It is 2.3 km long from north to south and 2.1 km from east to west.[b]
The climate is subtropical. The average temperature is 23°C. The warmest month is October, at 25°C, and the coldest month is January, at 22°C.[3] The average rainfall is 2,604 millimeters per year. The wettest month is August, with 374 millimeters of rainfall, and the driest month is October, with 80 millimeters of rainfall.[4]
